The first newsletter of 2021 is here. Where a few months ago we had hoped, and perhaps expected, that we would do that from a full office, the reality is somewhat different. We are still working from home, and most of us experience a lack of the social context of work or not having any work at all. Despite this negative side, we also see many positive things emerging. We discover new possibilities to do things together without actually being together. As a father of slightly older children, I had already become acquainted with this phenomenon. My children’s ‘gaming’ turned out to be a chat room where they share things and meet each other. My schoolyard from the past had become a digital schoolyard. Football is still played, just in a different way.
2020 taught us that content plays an important role, people have never read and learned as much as they have in recent months. The uprise of the Podcast and the Webinar can therefore be called spectacular. Still, we have seen that there are big differences and there is a big difference between good and bad. For that reason, we have chosen to conduct a series of studies that really help our clients. Learnings from large databases, extra measurements, and a lot of exploratory research. Not to understand whether people wash their hands, but to understand the impact of the situation on their behaviour. Our articles have never been read and shared more, and our reports as often used in board meetings. To start, we are bringing back some relevant publications from the past year. In the coming months, we hope to surprise everyone once again with new insights that can be used instantly.
I hope a lot will change in the coming months, but I would advise everyone to keep reading and to keep investing in building their knowledge. One of the most important learnings from the large-scale study among marketers shows that companies that invest more in knowledge, and are better able to implement science in their company, are significantly more successful.
