A royal welcome to DVJ Insights!
Gepubliceerd op 08 09 2022Last month, I started my journey at DVJ Insights as a Research Expert. And instead of a ‘normal’ start at the office, I was lucky enough to begin my new role by joining the two-day ‘Royal Company Trip’. And I couldn’t have wished for a warmer welcome.
A royal company trip
The company trip was organized in a royal theme, and we stayed at the beautiful castle of Baarlo, that welcomed us with its royal ambiance, ‘Limburgse Vlaai’, tasty snacks and drinks. An extra nice detail was the royal sash that we all had to wear.
Part of the DVJ family
While I felt a bit nervous about joining a new group of colleagues, I soon realised that it was not necessary at all. When Emily, the Research Director, welcomed me by saying welcome to the DVJ family, I immediately knew I was in the right place. Everyone at DVJ did their best to include me in the group. It felt really good that my new colleagues were so open, friendly, and interested.
Work hard, play hard
The company trip itself was well-organized. There was room for lots of joy and fun, but there was also a more serious part on the program: The Research Innovations Awards. During this activity, we had to solve a marketing-related question about a new app. I was assigned to a smart group of people, each with their own discipline. I felt like I was taken seriously, and I could really contribute to the team. We all had the drive to win, and I could really feel the team-spirit. Unfortunately, we didn’t win a prize, but at least we learned (and laughed) a lot.
Later in the evening, we had a barbecue and a party. The DJ played late into the night, and we showed off our dance moves. The next day, we were back at breakfast ‘fresh and fruity’. Ready for team building games and a pub quiz.
Looking forward to the next event
Thanks to the trip, I got to know my colleagues very well before I’ve even started. This is something that really suits DVJ, everyone should feel included right away. We had a lot of fun, so I can’t wait for the next event!
