Happiness at work
Published on 21 12 2021This is the last newsletter of the year. From a business perspective, we look back on a very successful year. We realised an almost 40% increase in turnover and gained many new clients and employees. This year, we were once again listed in the top 250 growth companies and, for the 4th year in a row, we were awarded an FD Gazelle. The fact that we are the only agency that achieves this for so many years, shows how successful DVJ Insights is. Although growth is not a goal in itself, we do see growth as the result of the trust our clients have in us. This trust is also reflected in the way the cooperation with DVJ is assessed.
reward
Next to this growth, we have also received a number of rewards. For example, Jori van de Spijker was chosen as the best researcher in the Dutch market and we received two MRS nominations in the UK for the innovative research we do each year. These results say a lot about the quality of the DVJ team and the role we play in making research a little better and more fun every day. We have also conducted the largest survey of marketers and organised our own event with over 500 visitors.
satisfaction
Yet for me, as the owner of DVJ, that is not what makes working fun and what gives us satisfaction. The year has been characterised by working from home, uncertainty, a lot of change and a great deal of pressure on our resilience. Of course, we are lucky that we can do our work from any location we choose. However, the past period has also shown us that merely “getting your work done” is not the greatest source of joy. By doing our own research on “the happiness” of the DVJ employee every day, we have seen that lockdowns get in the way of this happiness. Working together, brainstorming together, consulting together, and celebrating together is a lot harder through all the digital channels we have. So I hope that when we look ahead to next year, that “happiness” will once again take centre stage.
THE WAY TO HAPPINESS AT WORK
On the business side, we are going to do some great research, set up new programmes in several countries and amaze the market with a great introduction of something completely new. This will help us to get an even better grip on growth and to support companies in this respect. Our people make a difference in almost every project we do. They make sure our clients are satisfied, that research is set up just a little bit smarter, executed just a little bit better, reported just a little bit more specifically, and is interpreted just a little bit more sensibly. Therefore, 2022 will only be truly successful if the “happiness meter” of the people at DVJ is higher than ever. Happiness is also largely determined by the way we work together with our clients. Despite all restrictions, I wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and a very happy 2022. And I hope that everyone who wants to work with DVJ will put cooperation at the top of their list. This way, working together becomes fun and we can get the most happiness out of our work.
