The Role: Global Director Research & Excellence
As Global Director Research & Excellence, you’ll be a key member of the management team—collaborating closely with the Commercial Director and thought leaders across the business (e.g., Head of Domains, Directors Strategy & Solutions). You’ll lead a future-focused, high-performing research team in a fast-growing, international environment.
Lead, inspire, and develop a growing team of +50 FTE researchers & project managers, all based in Utrecht
Be part of a global management team and help shaping the future organisation from within
Build and execute a long-term vision for the Research team aligned with DVJ’s global strategy
Integrate AI and other technical processes into the day-t-day activities of every researcher and increase the joy of working for clients.
Be the operational and people leader of our research delivery: overseeing planning, team allocation, quality standards, and DVJ’s way of working
Translate innovation into action—leveraging tools like AI, dashboards, and survey tech to improve output and client value
Ensure flawless project execution and continuous improvement across all research projects
Coach, guide, and develop team leads and senior researchers, turning them into trusted advisors for our clients
What We're Looking For
You are a senior leader with a love for people leadership, and the strategic mindset to innovate, improve, and grow. You know how to lead large teams, but you’re just as comfortable getting into the details when needed.
We’re especially excited if you:
Have 10+ years of experience in research and/or consulting roles, including senior leadership experience
A strong people manager with a passion for empowering people
Thrive in fast-paced, international environments
Know how to build, scale, and guide large teams
Are fluent in Dutch and English (our research team is Dutch-based, but we work globally)
Are passionate about innovation and technology in research and shaping the future with this knowledge
Are a natural communicator and coach—able to align, inspire, and develop others
Experienced in change management and/or growing companies
