Are people worrying
The latest poll was taken immediately after Mark Rutte’s speech, seen by 85% of people. This shows that the percentage of people who are concerned is unprecedentedly high at 75%.
Are people taking preventive measures
Almost half of the people have taken active measures themselves. In the last few weeks in particular, the number of people who take the coronavirus seriously and who have actively changed their behaviour, has increased significantly.
What are the measures most people are taking
The measures people take are reflected in the advice provided by the government. Washing hands more often and no longer shaking hands is now done by more than 80% of people. Avoiding places where many people come together and staying at home has also increased significantly in 2 weeks.
How do we feel about the media and the government
In general, we see that people are satisfied with the information provided by the government. Particularly right after Prime Minister Rutte’s speech, that percentage is very high. Remarkably, there was some scepticism about the role of the media in the beginning, but that has changed. The Netherlands believes that the media gives sufficient attention to the coronavirus and confidence and trust in the media has also increased. We also see that people are confident in the measures that are being taken and that confidence is also increasing.
Research method DVJ Insights
The sample for this study consists of over 500 people. This number is large enough for reliable results. In addition, a representative sample by gender and age, education level and region was used. Based on this sampling method, we can state that the results represent the opinion of the United Kingdom as it was at the time of measurement.
